Wicklow Brave dies after American Grand National fall at Far Hills

Wicklow Brave, among racings hottest and versatile horses, has died after a drop after leading in the American Grand National.
The 10-year-old, commissioned by Paul Townend for coach Willie Mullins, came down in the final trip at Far Hills.
He suffered a fractured right shoulder and was euthanised in the stables region, said New Jersey State veterinarian Dr Stacey Romano.
Wicklow Brave won 17 races and around the flat.
Townend had clarified the horse, who also won the 2015 County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and the 2017 Punchestown Champion Hurdle, asthe horse of a lifetime for proprietor Nick Peacock.
Wicklow Brave appeared set to add the US Grand National to a variety of achievements before falling in the race which was acquired by Brain Power, ridden by Nico de Boinville to get coach Nicky Henderson.
This is absolutely devastating news. My most sincere condolences to all relations involved in Wicklow Brave. A terrible, terrible loss, said Henderson.
Race meeting chairman Guy Torsilieri said:We are sad to have lost such a winner today.
Our thoughts are with Wicklow Braves owners and all of their connections, the racing community and the fans. It was tragic for all people.
Patrick Mullins, champion trainer Willies son, paid tribute to the horse he sentenced to seven victories.
Wicklow brought us all around the planet and on a exceptional experience, he told the Racing Post.
Jason Dear looked after him brilliantly and rode him every single day. He deserves credit for that which that the horse has achieved in his career. Wicklow will be missed. It is a sad moment.
Wicklow Brave, who ran throughout his profession, had won all three of his starts and has been aimed at the Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase .
The American Grand National is not the same challenge to the Grand National at Aintree, and will be conducted over hurdles within a distance of two miles and five furlongs.
